Kansas City’s Crossroads District is gaining new momentum as Forge Construction announces the completion of its newly expanded corporate headquarters, representing an investment of more than $2.9 million and creating nearly 20 new jobs in the heart of the city’s creative corridor.
The Kansas City based general contractor has relocated into a renovated 10,000 square foot, two story building at 1710 Walnut Street, transforming a long-underutilized structure into a modern headquarters designed to support the company’s continued growth and collaborative culture.

“This project was completed during a time of tremendous growth for Forge Construction, but it was also a season of discovery,” said Eric Turner, President of Forge Construction. “As we expanded, we worked to define our guiding principles, clarify our purpose, and align around a vision for the future. This headquarters represents more than a new space. It reflects who we are, what we value, and how we want to work together as we continue building for Kansas City and beyond.
State leaders highlighted the project as a strong signal of Missouri’s economic momentum and the continued growth of local businesses.
“When companies choose to grow in Missouri, it speaks volumes about the strength of our economy and the leadership within our communities,” said Governor Mike Kehoe. “Forge Construction’s new headquarters in Kansas City represents more than expansion. It represents progress. This move reinforces our commitment to fostering an environment where business can scale, compete, and succeed for the long term.”
“We’re proud that Forge Construction has chosen to expand its operations and deepen its roots in Missouri,” said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “This investment and added jobs are strong votes of confidence in Kansas City’s skilled workforce and our state’s pro-growth business climate. This expansion will help create new opportunities for Missourians to prosper.”
Local leadership also emphasized the importance of investment for Kansas City and its workforce.
“Kansas City is proud to support companies that choose to build their future here, and when local companies grow, Kansas City grows with them,” said Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas. “Forge Construction's new headquarters reflects the talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to our community that continues to strengthen our regional economy and create good jobs for our residents.”
“Investments like this demonstrate the continued confidence companies have in Kansas City’s future,” said Kansas City Fourth District Councilmember Crispin Rea. “Forge Construction’s expansion reflects the strength of our local business community and the opportunities being created for workers and families across our city.”
The project was supported through a public private partnership involving the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City and the Missouri Department of Economic Development. Through the Missouri Works program, the expansion received support designed to help companies grow, retain workers, and create new job opportunities across the state.
EDCKC served as a strategic partner throughout the project, helping guide Forge Construction through the city and state incentive process while aligning the investment with broader efforts to strengthen Kansas City’s construction economy and workforce.
“It was a pleasure supporting Forge Construction in their decision to stay and expand in Kansas City,” said Nathan Vanice, Business Development Officer at the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City. “This expansion not only strengthens our local construction industry but also creates quality jobs and reinforces the value of investing in Kansas City. We’re excited to see Forge continue to grow and deepen its impact in the community.”
The renovation involved a full interior demolition and complete redesign of the building, transforming the space into a warm and modern headquarters that reflects Forge Construction’s identity and values. Exposed structural elements, natural materials, and open collaborative spaces were incorporated into the design to support transparency and teamwork.
Forge Construction’s investment represents another signal of the Crossroads District’s continued economic momentum and highlights the role of strategic partnerships between the city, state, and private sector in supporting business growth.
